Vanderbilt LifeFlight is part of the Air Methods family, where no membership is required. Click here to read more about No Membership Required with Air Methods.
Air Methods believes that everyone deserves access to our lifesaving care and that you shouldn’t have to pay for a membership to make sure that your out-of-pocket costs for this care are low. That is why they no longer offer a membership program and focus on keeping out-of-pocket costs low for everyone in the communities we serve through our Patient Advocacy program and by working to increase insurance coverage for our services.
If you have questions please contact the Air Methods Patient Advocacy team at 855-896-9067.
In the place of our membership program, all patients who fly with Air Methods will have access to robust services to help navigate the post-flight billing process and avoid costly out-of-pocket expenses. The Air Methods advantage, with no membership required, includes the following:
- Patient Advocacy: We will work with patients to ensure that health plans resolve claims in a way most beneficial to patients.
- In-network Strategy: When we are in-network, patients are only responsible for their insurance plan co-pay and deductible and will never receive a balance bill. As of January 2019, we are in-network with some of the largest health insurance companies in more than 23 states.
- Community Partnerships: Our Community Partnership Program is an alternative to a membership for a city/county that still wants to provide financial assistance to their residents in the event of an air medical transport with Air Methods.
All air operations are provided by Air Methods Corporation. All medical services are provided by Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
